Phyllis Wheatley’s building renovation project
Setty is working closely with the Young Women’s Christian
Association - Phyllis Wheatley’s renovation project.
Sharing a little background information on Phyllis Wheatley,
it is the story of African-American women with a vision to start a Young
Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) for “Colored” women and girls in the early
years of the twentieth century when such a deed was impractical and required
great courage.
The building was named after the poet Phillis Wheatley (May 8,
1753, West Africa – December 5, 1784, Boston, MA).Born in Senegambia, she was
sold into slavery at the age of seven and transported to North America. Ms.
Phillis Wheatley has the reputation of being both the second published
African-American poet and first published African-American woman.

An open door for fun at Setty
Setty Team Members participated in Paintball last month. The competitive sport allowed folks to show off their colorful side. We feel that if we create the right working environment it will translate into people wanting to come here and feel good about where they work.
